 Japan's death toll has climbed to nearly 7,000, with more than 10,000 people missing.

The goal was to raise $5,500 for families in Japan.

As of Fri morning at 7:45, the project has raised more than $30,000.

The American Red Cross has made donating easy via phone

 Text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 

to help victims of Japan's Earthquake and the Pacific Tsunami

According to ABC News, the Red Cross had raised $47 million through Wednesday afternoon, including more than $2.6 million in donations via text messages.
