{The thing I look forward to most on weekends...}

Blazing hot temps in Phoenix = frozen treats whenever I please.
Which is usually only on the weekends (thankfully) since there isn't a Yogurtland near my house.
It's my all time favorite. I'm quite loyal! All the others just don't compare.

Madagascar vanilla, coconut, and a dash of red velvet if I'm feeling like it.
Toppings are simple, a few mochi & coconut shavings.
Holy.

Ignore Lauren's weird jellyfish topping. She swears it was good, but I just couldn't agree!

Happy weekending friends!

{Sweet Republic Date Night}

Apparently over the last few days & nights I've decided to completely ignore my nice camera, and leave it sitting on the counter as I go rushing out the door. Blast. Thank goodness for my iPhone, so I don't completely loose out on all my memories!

Chris took me on a surprise sushi date (swoon.) and after we stumbled on Sweet Republic ice cream. It's been on my AZ bucket list for quite a while, and every time I hear the sweet treat shop receive a mention in the press I make a mental note to get out there! It's a bit of a drive from my house, and I never would have expected to find it so suddenly!

With 24 different flavors of ice cream, sorbet & froyo like honey blue cheese, banana foster, sweet corn and brownie swirl, it took me FOREVER to decide what I wanted.

The boyfriend settled on a double scoop of coconut ice cream. It was good, but I probably won't ever order it again. I think he agreed. (We're super snobby about our coconut after eating strictly coconut gelato in Europe last summer!)

I got the salted butter caramel. Hoooolllyyyy it was so good! I near licked the bottom of the cup even though I was already stuffed from sushi. Seriously, I've got to go back soon. I also spotted ice cream sandwiches with cookies made in the shop for sale! Mmmm.

Whoever started the salted caramel trend out there, I'm eternally grateful.

{It's Monday Already?!} : volume II

Molly Moon's

{storefront}

I spent the weekend working away at the Mariners, and so unfortunately my fun weekend plans pretty much consisted of sleeping, working, riding the bus, and sleeping again. This doesn't leave a lot of time to do fun and exciting, jealousy inducing events.

{ice cream}

After one particularly shocking long shift (8 hours, only 3 customers! Come on people, don't you want to see the m's?), my mom surprised me and picked me up outside of the box office. Mothers always have a tendency to know when you need a pick me up, so she brought me to one of my favorite Seattle spots.

{new menu items}

Molly Moon's is one of Seattle's most popular stops for locals in need of a sweet treat, even winning the title of one of Seattle Magazine's Best Restaurants of 2010. The small but bustling shop opened its doors in 2008, and has been feeding happy souls ever since.

{homemade waffle cones}

The ice cream is probably some of the most flavorful, creamy and boldly flavored ice cream that I have ever had. The honey lavender literally makes me go weak at the knees. The salted caramel gives me chills. And the menu is so diverse that every time I walk in it STILL takes me the entire long, out the door, down the street, wrap-around line to figure out what I want.

Clearly I opted for both. Are you drooling yet?

{ice cream & graffiti street art}

My mom opted for the salted caramel on top of vivace coffee, which happens to also be my favorite coffee place in Seattle, (when I choose to cheat on Starbucks). Definitely delicious. I have also sampled the Theo chocolate, vanilla bean, balsamic strawberry sorbet, and "scout" mint.

Seriously, you must must check this place out!
Locals & tourists alike.
Warm weather not necessary.

aaaand then I got really full and kinda nauseous. ice cream heaven overload.
