House Beautiful

 

I have a tendency to obsess over things. The second there are travel plans in the works, new professional opportunities, news of a move or new city to explore, I spiral down internet/google quicksand. I could spend hours researching, looking at blogs, inspiration photos, and reviews of others' experiences.

As soon as it dawned on me that I will soon have a whole house to make beautiful, my outside of the office hours have absolutely gone down the drain. My 5:30am alarm used to alert me to the need to hit the gym, but now it is a sweet siren of "check houzz.com for new photos and ideabooks!". I LOVE IT. This time around, I'd like to incorporate more color, and insist on fresh flowers as often as possible - hopefully from my garden!

This weekend we'll be back out in the yard, attempting to revive a lemon tree and keep the plants hydrated. I'll be revamping a dresser for the master bedroom, and a small coffee table if time permits. I really should be packing...alas! That will have to wait until I'm truly motivated. Three years accumulated stuff from bachelorette pad living is going to be a JOY to pack and move.
